Charles Hantom

Charles is a retired solicitor having been the Senior Partner at a well known firm in Manchester. Throughout his professional life he represented Trade Unions and their members. Before his retirement in 2008 he was presented with an award from the Community Trade Union for his outstanding service to iron and steel workers. A statuette made from a limited supply of iron-ore preserved at Telford in the UK holds pride of place at Jarjeer and is a constant reminder of the skills shown by working men and women.

Charles’ lifelong commitment to the rights of working people continues as the community at Jarjeer flourishes. Any service provided under his stewardship will be of the finest but delivered without any worker or tradesman being exploited. Along with his wife, Susan, they have seen the Refuge grow and succeed over the last 5 years.
