Omar This award winning photograph of our builder, Omar, who has been with us since the start of the project was taken by equine photographer, Marlene Wareham. It demonstrates the unique bond between all our staff and the donkeys. Hussein is the second builder to join our team. You can see him hard at work building new night accommodation for our night staff. Ahmed has worked at Jarjeer since Charles and Susan’s villa was built in 2010. He has been responsible for all the agricultural land and became part of the Refuge team at its inception. He single hand-idly developed the beautiful garden designed for visitors to the Refuge. We are constantly in awe of his work ethic! Mohammed Mazous This is the third Mohammed on our team! He ably assists Ahmed in the garden but is always willing to help with donkey care. He has always had a close bond with the dogs at Jarjeer. Khalid is a recent but very welcome addition to the team. He assists Omar, the builder, on a daily basis but also acts as an additional groom when necessary. He is very skilled and has a natural empathy with the donkeys and mules. Omar This is the second Omar on our team. He works with Hussein, our second builder, but like all the staff at Jarjeer is more than happy to help with donkey care! Brahim is our hardworking night guardian. We don’t know how we would cope without him. He is wonderful with all the animals and has a special bond with our very first donkey, Tommy. Buchra is our housekeeper and has worked at the Refuge since 2014. Buchra will turn her hand to anything and is hugely supportive of the care that the men give to the donkeys and mules.
