Todays Rescue

We were recently contacted by a charity in England that supports Moroccan animals who had, in turn, had a message from a person in Denmark. They were trying to track down a mule that had been featured on TikTok. The mule in Marrakech was in poor condition and has clearly living out of trash cans. We were quickly able to identify the person who made the TikTok video and Simohamed was able to negotiate with her. It turned out to be Maj Da who is the longtime supporter of Jarjeer. She has persuaded the owner to sell the mule to her and he will be collected by our staff at 6 o'clock this evening.

This is just another every day example of how owners are no longer caring for their mules, very often as a result of poverty caused during the pandemic, and consequently the need for working animals is diminishing. We are convinced that although Maj Da has negotiated a sale, the mule will not be replaced. In the meantime we look forward to welcoming this mule to Jarjeer.
